cleveland heads on 302 info

I'm interested in putting cleveland heads on a 302 to make a 302 clevor, but I'm not too sure what kind of parts I need. Do I need a special intake, or just any 302 intake? do I have to use cleveland headers(I think I do, but I'm making sure)? and what kind of work, if any, need to be done to the heads in order to instal them? any other infor is appreciated.

Yes you need a special intake. If you use 4V heads you can use a stock Boss 302 intake, and B&A performance made single and dual plane intakes for putting 2V heads on 302s and 351Ws about 15 years ago. Surprisingly, these B&A intakes which are long out of production never seem to come up on Ebay.

If you do find a B&A intake, you will have to drill a coolant hole in the gasket face and plug a hole on the intake face.

You will have to find a machinest that knows what he is doing it requires special pistons and some water passages have to be plugged and new ones drilled but not a big deal for some one who knows what he is doing. CHI offers a kit that allows you to use a windsor intake port matching will but a must if you do this. Here is a link to the kit
Rocker Covers, Intake Gaskets, Water Crossover Kits for Windsors & Spacer Kits
You might contact TMI he is a sponsor of the board he does a lot with 335 series engines and sells CHI products.
I always wanted to build a 427 351W based clevor get the displacement up and those 4V heads are great

Good news- Intakes back in production

I couldn't get that link from Johnboy to work, so if I am duplicating info that's why.

Anyhow, try this link,

The Mustang Shop

They say that Edelbrock is now selling an intake for putting Cleveland heads on the 302 (part #7129), as well as on the 351W (part #7183). The site also covers your questions about headwork. And yes, you will have to use headers (or exhaust manifolds) suitable for Cleveland type heads.
