How much money?

How much money?
I bought my truck in my signature last year in October and started driving it in January (Needed the 4X4 in New England). I paid $600 for it and it has 170k on it. I have had to replace the exhaust manifold and a new high flow cat and cat back system. This summer I am going to be making the choice of just fixing the body work and selling (not likely) or keeping it untill I go off to college (and putting in some new toys), then I will store it since my younger brother seems to want to follow the trend of teenagers in my town and buy a newer Audi/BMW (what are they thinking)
Im wondering if the $1600 bill I got for the manifold ( I had someone else do it if I had a garage that fit my truck and it wasnt February I would have done it myself believe me) and the $350 for the exhaust, how much more would you guys say I should justify putting into her before I call it quits?

word of adveice.... if u start puttin enough into that u cld buy a new trick that is in as good of condition as wat ur reparing urs to be in sell it and buy a new one! I bought my 95 f250 5.8L 4x4 for $2000 (CND) with 300 000 kms on it. I have now put $8000 into it and still have an oil burning, clunky shifting old truck. sher wish id sold it and bought something for $10 000 instead (btw im only 17 so that is alotttt or money for me to have put into somethin seeing as i only make $14 an hour and have only been workin full time for a few months)

Reeds, that looks like a pretty nice truck, you're still under $3000 for a decent 3/4 ton, that's not bad at all. How's the motor, tranny, gas tanks, rust, steering etc.? If all pretty good then maybe you'll get a good run out of it and stay in the $4000-4500 max range which is pretty OK for a good truck. New ones are lots of cash, tax, interest, insurance etc.

It also could use a new passangers front fender.
Im just concerned that with the cost of gas that it will be harder and harder to sell the longer I wait.

I dont see you gettin out of it what you put into it... I know i wont get out of mine what i put into it... Thats just money spent not including countless hours spent... But i love my truck and its mine... I decided when to call it quits and save up for a new ride... I will always be wrenching on this truck as thats what i love to do. But first im gunna have to get a new ride.

The rear gas tank is good, I think the front is shot. The body rust is the standard areas over the wheel wells, and on the extended part (lower) cab.

rarely do you come out ahead when fixing an older vehicle, and when you have to pay someone to do it you will probably not come out ahead.
enjoy it and use it and realize it is going to cost you something is a good way to look at it.
