Towing Capacity? 2001 F-150 4.6 V-8

I have a 2001 F-150 4.6 V-8

How can I find the towing capacity? My owners manual is packed away somewhere and Im killing myself to find it.

Im buying a travel trailer to pull on a frame mounted receiver hitch (not a 5th wheel), and just want to make sure I can tow it!

Depends on your gear ratio and whether you're 4x4, and what cab and tires.

Here are some of the more common configurations:
Extended 4x2
3.31 gear 5900 lbs trailer 10,500 GVW
3.55 6900 11,500

Extended 4x4
16 inch tires 3.55 6600
17 in tires 3.55 6100

Cool, Thanks!

Mine is an extended cab, flare side. It is not 4X4.

Looks like Im well within towing range if 10,500 is the max.

10,500 is the max gross vehicle weight. Meaning weight of your truck, plus trailer and load.

You need to be concerned about the Gross combined weight rating for the truck model and how it is equipped.
Then subtract passengers and any other weight from the trailer 'Loaded' weight.
There is more to this than just looking at one source of trailer weight and saying that's all there is to it.
Then there is transmission cooling and radiator cooling capacity for long haul .
Believe it, there is more to this than just simply knowing trailer weight.
You need an electric brake controller as well.
