Stupid fuel pump or Stupid me?

I have an intermittent problem with my fuel pump. When I turn the key to the "on" position, I hear the "click" from the fuel pump in the tank but do not hear the pump spinning up. After I find another ride, get picked up, or walk, the problem fixes itself. The next time I go to the truck, the click is there, the pump spins, and voila! It cranks! It happens every time! Gremlins I swear!
I just had hernia surgery Friday and would rather not have to take the tank down and replace a pump right now. Any ideas? THX

Check the grounds , but I think you're in for a new pump.

There are 2 fuel pumps...1 in the tank and 1 on the frame behind the drivers seat underneath....

i had a bad inertia switch, located under the passenger side carpet at the top. It can get corroded and not make a good connection. You can unplug the two wires that go to it and connect them, to see if that's the problem, mine was intermittent. Without current going thru it your fuel pumps will not work. It also has a reset switch on it. just my 2 cents worth. Good luck Steve

I changed out the internal fuel pump. It has been about two weeks since the pump was replaced. I have not had a reoccur but, like I mentioned before, it was a intermittent problem. Hope it does not come back. I will be pissed. I had hernia surgery 4 days before the pump replacement. That was hard to do in my condition.
