There are a lot of threads on this subject so if you search this forum for "Tire Size", you should find plenty of answers.

Here's a link to an older thread I found that may be of some help.

I was thinking the same thing!

No info on type of truck(assuming it's the superduty), kind of wheeling, gear ratio, engine, nothing....

The superdutys can fit 35s stock.
So 40 shouldn't be a problem, but now
Subscription removed.

you may get 38s on there but then you will have to regear because bigger tires means less power so you will need to regear.why do you want bigger tires anyway just to look cool?are you off roading the truck or just driving it down the street?

umm the question was answered on post #4 there bud but as was also stated more info is needed to give a proper answer. while you could prob fit 40s if your tryin to climb rocks they might rub where as if its just for looks the 40s will be fine. then yoiu have to take into consideration the undergearing, which in itself is a whole other issue with larger tires. basically i have a truck with x amount of lift tells us nothing.

sorry so used to posting in the 6.0 forum. ya its an 05 f-250, these tires are getting worn and i was just curious at to how big i could go. I did actually look and try to find some answers. everything thats done to it is in the sig. the gearing is stock. Im wondering if it would need to be re-geared maybe 4.10 or could i get by with the stock 3.73 if i went with a 38? I dont tow heavy and yes I use this truck on the sand a lot my 12.5 width got buried kinda quick so this is one of the reasons i wanted a bigger wider tire.

thank you for the info. with wheelspeed as an issue for sand i would seriously consider regearing to at the bare minimum 4.10 with 38s. i think you would be much happier with 4.56 or 4.88s thou. as for how wide. with sand as wide as you can get without rubbing. i dont know the specifics on your truck so i wont say exactly what size you can run but i would think a 38/14.50 would be a nice size to try.

37's will work. As far as a regear I would have to say yes, 37's with the stock 3.73's is going to feel pretty sluggish.

Superior Axle puts rpm for 37's tires at 2692 with 4.56 gears that gives you equal amount of power and fuel mileage. But unfortunatley that's all the bigger they go on tire size. That is with a 4 spd at 65 mph with an auto your rpm's will slightly higher.
