anything with customization especially if you chop the top and its touching the ground....This one will have a dropped i beam that lowers the front 4" and not sure what else yet...were actually thinking since we have spent this much money so far putting a regular good looking paintjob and stuff on it.
Looks like one nice project you have going there, keep up with the photo album since I think we'll all enjoy watching it come together.
As far as what is a rat rod ? I hate the term personally because it's nothing more than a traditional hotrod, you took what you could find and added in your own blood sweat, tears and personal taste to make a car the way you wanted it. The whole point was that who needed a flashy car when you could have a neat old car that maybe wasn't seen every day, but could drive it anytime you want, anywhere you want, and probably whip the pants off some of these cats in all the new fangled shtuff. It's hotrodding back to it's roots if you ask me.

Looks like a nice solid project! When are you hoping to have it done?
Is that a B-G Holley? or a Holley Hi-Perf series? Always wanted to do a 53-56 project pickup. Maybe my next one... Only one more muscle car project after current truck then think it will be all trucks after that. Hope to fit in a diesel truck project in there somewhere
My last truck project was a brand new ranger, dropped in a S/C small block. Was my daily driver..
nice truck . i was gonna do the unfinished look with my 55 and decided that to many were doing it and didnt wanna be associated with some of the unsafe crap being thrown together by wannabe's trying to be cool . i'm curious as to whether you or anyone else has issues with the power brake booster and dual master cylinder arrangement with clearances and the clutch linkage etc. been dragging my feet on updating the system on my 53 but with all the above mentioned and the headers looks a lil' tight , or like i might have issues retaining the clutch , brake pedal assembly the way it is now .

P.A.D.D = project attention deficit disorder . everyone on here has it , and is an enabler !!!! so enter at your own risk !!!!!!!!!!! if you don't have 2 or 3 broken fords / projects , then you just ain't right !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
