F-150 Fuel Pump module housing rotted out
My neighbor here in upstate NY where salt is prevalent had his 04 extended cab F-150 Fuel pump module housing rott thru this winter. He showed it to me and it consists of an aluminum housing with a plastic cover and connector plug. The aluminum housing bolts directly to the frame rail near the spare tire. The housing rotted thru a 1 1/2 inch diameter hole where it met the frame and shorted out the circuit board inside and killed the fuel pump. He took it to a local shop to have the pump replaced and the new pump imediately fried with the bad module they told him. Once the module was found to be bad, another new pump fixed the truck. $850 dollars later. This is a guy who is meticulous about keeping his truck in showroom condition. The problem was, salt collected where he could never wash it. Anyone else with this problem??

fuel pump module
On my 04 SC XLT I had the same thing happen this winter, I got a fuel pump module offline code and the fuel pump quit working. The dealer found the same size hole in mine. The module took out the fuel pump and my pcm, it took the dealer almost 2 weeks to get it straightened out.
