American build Sportracs are built on an Explorer chassis, as far as I know, and ARE included in the FTE Explorer, Mountaineer forum.

I believe you are right about the new model sporttrac's but the first version, such as my 2001 was built on a Ranger chassis.

No, the Sport Trac is called an Explorer Sport Trac because it is a Ford Explorer. It has always been built on an Explorer chassis. If it was built on a Ranger chassis, it would have been called a Ranger Sport Trac.

no, the sport trac is built on a ranger ext cab frame. it is identical in everyway, shape and form. the only thing different is the body, it is the front half of explorer(from rear doors forward) and a custom design (from factory) ranger short bed base. I am a Ford tech and work on both sport trac and rangers. all mechanicals, driveline powertrain is the same as rangers and explorers. So yes, to answer your question, this is the right forum for you to post in because this is for bronco II, ranger, explorer, sport trac.
