I actually go to school/play football in Knoxville at UT. I got a few weeks off from ball and am at home with the family. 2HI offered me some tickets so I'm thinkin I may make the trip back early. Might postpone the 400 build another week or so, so I can bring it up.

I had a good time. I was with a small contigent from the Delaware FTE. FTE won an award for the largest club in attendance. The FTE members were supposed to get together at 11:00 AM on Saturday. I went to the meeting place with a couple of the Delaware group and we didn't find anyone else.
I didn't win any awards. It was tough competition with lots of excellent F100s there. I think the turnout was low. The weather was great on Saturday, but rainy and over cast on Thursday and Friday. I think that the cost of fuel hurt the show a lot. I noticed that there were fewer RVs on the road as I was traveling.
I averaged about 13 MPG for the trip which was 90% Interstate Hwy. My truck turns 3000 RPM at about 72 MPH. I think that If I had an OD tranny, I could have increased the gas mileage by a couple MPG.
I had a lot of compliments on my truck, and some real interest in the motor. There was nothing else like it at the show.

There was one 351M in a '77 truck. There might have been a 351C or two. There were several 460s, some FEs, many Windsors, and even some Chxxys(God Forbid), but no other 400s.
In addition to F100s, there were many of all kinds of Broncos, and 60 to 64Galaxies, Fairlanes, and other full size Fords,m also some later model trucks. The FTE members from Delaware, who I was with had a 77 F150, a 97 F150, and a newer F250 diesel, and an F350 diesel. There were not many trucks in those classes. Delaware FTE won an award for club participation.

By the sounds of it, cars will be quite common from here on out since Pat sold the show.
It is probably a 'first and last' for me. It was a nice show, with many F100s. The biggest attraction for me is access to the vendors for F100 hardware and the F100 oriented flea market. I will attend the All-Ford and All-Truck show in Carlisle PA, the Rod & Custom show in Macungie PA, and also in nearby Harrington DE. Next year, I'll attend the Spring show in Ocean City MD instead of making that trip to Knoxville on that same weekend.
Pat Ford probably made a smart move selling the show, if fuel prices stay at this level. The vendors will have to make more effort to get exposure at more local shows, rather than one or two to cover the whole country.

According to someone I spoke with that works for the (EJ?) Promotion Company that now owns the rights, it will be an all Ford truck and car show next year.
The show will remain in Knoxville at the present location.
