I had to order a V10 to get it equipped the way I wanted. Diesels galore on the lots, but the V10's are tough to find. Ordered on 5/1 and got a 5/19 build date already. Not too long to wait.

Keep looking, there are V-10s to be gotten. However the demand for the V-10 is growing due to diesel prices at the pump, as well as the option price of the diesel vs the price to upgrade to the V-10. You would most likely be impressed with the new 3v V-8 when compared to your current ride. However the power of the V-10 once it gets a few hundred miles on it and wakes up is purs sweet love of power delivered in a quite manner.

Do you do any major towing? If so , hang on and get that V10. If not you might be ok with the V8.

You know one of the things I like about owning a V-10, is that I own something different. Not quite like owning a Lightning, Cobra GT, Shelby GT-500 or such, but it is a somewhat limited production engine in a Superduty. And just like the small decals under my V-10 emblems say "Ford's Best Kept Secret"
I know back when I was into Jeep, my Wrangers all had the decal "It's a Jeep thing, you wouldn't understand"
The V-10 is much along the same thing, Unless you own one, you wouldn't understand. She may not be a tire smoking, fast handling Hot Rod, but for pushing a 6,000 pound truck around, the Hp and Tq sure put a smile on my face...even at $3.73 plus per gallon of go juice.

One thing to remember is the later trucks are even heavier.

So an upgraded V8 in a later truck will not do much better than an early 2-valve V8.

I know that's a gross oversimplification, but ...

Maybe a good decal to go under the Triton V-10 emblem would be:
"The Intelligent Choice"

Jake, you already know the reliability of the V-10 and if you've hung around this website long enough (which you certainly have) you also know a 6.0 diesel may not be as reliable. Get another V-10.
