F-250 Performance Options?

This is my first post on this forum and I appreciate any advice and give thanks in advance!!!

I have a 1997 F-250 HD with a 7.5 (gas) and auto trans. It is OBD-I (not OBD-II). It is stock and I'm looking for any performance options that will give me the best bang for the buck. Thanks again.

First off welcome to FTE.

First things first. Do the common upgrades like a higher flowing intake. K&N air filter drop in, or the whole intake, a good flowing exhaust will wake your truck up. These very easy and cheap upgrades will give you a good foundation for bigger upgrades.

Headers and chip, you are efi, correct? Check you smog law, you don't want to get sideways with those fellers...

Just for grins, a little more 460 info:

All carb'd engines, but you'll get the picture.

Yup, EFI. Is there a chip available for a '97 that is not OBDII?

Nothing worth buying. Do a complete exhaust and then advance the timing a couple degrees.
