Hi. I will explain what I have and then my problem..
I have a 460 out of a 87 F250 in a 89 chevy blazer I use just for off roading.
I've taken the old carb off and put a Holley 770 Dominator on it. MSD 6A with a blaster coil. No exhaust just open headers. The egr plate on the original mainfold is left in place. The jets for the 770 are stock. This is the carb recomended by Holleys site. checked for vaccume leakes and can't find any.
I can't get the truck to idle at any rpm less than 1300-1500. Then if you put it in gear it just dies... I was told the setup for this engine is 8* of timing however I'm not sure about that.
I'm pritty much a chevy guy trying to learn the ropes of the big bad ford... I've got it at about 20* of timeing now if I go to 8* it just backfires thru the carb.
Please help I want to make this a trailable rig but cant with the crazy idle speed.
