Probably not a bolt in deal on a 79, but I'll give the hydroboost in the big truck a good look over. Vacuum reservoir shouldn't be a big deal.

Andy. The way it's sitting right now this will be my fall/winter project, but I'll definitely holler at ya when I get into it.

Thanks for checking it out for me George.

Measure the bolt pattern center to center where the brake booster mounts to the firewall.

I am going to bet it is the same, just because it was not changed from an 86 F 250 to a 97 Super Duty (F 450).

if the hydra-boost works that will make a lot more room to work with

AndysFords is starting off with a positive reputation.
I opened the hood on an 89 F350 at a junk yard a year or so ago and it had a hydraboost, so it can be done.

I am running hydraboost on my 86 F250, direct bolt on install.
I am using the hydraboost unit off a 97 F450 with my 86 master cylinder and a 97 power steering pump with the 86 pulley on it.

Real brakes.

Thanks guys....I'll look into it.

Sorry 'bout the delay replying. Had to go out of town this weekend to rescure the wife's Grand Marquis.....then had to replace the cracked intake manifold.
