65F100-How To Determine Transmission Model

I have a 65F100, automatic with a 352. How do I know or determine what model number the transission is?

Cruise-0-matic, an improved model of the Ford-o-matic. C6 came out in '66, FMX later. If your trans was replaced, it could be the later ones.

Is it all cast iron, cast trans with aluminum bell, or all aluminum?

Not a C4 behind an FE in a pu. Cruise-0-Matic. I know, they called them all Cruise O Matic, but the COM is bigger than the C4.

Look at the notes for the C4:

""
C4 bell housing is removeable, C6 is not.
Rectangular, almost square pan ( 10" X 9") with slight buldge on front pass. corner. Pan has 11 bolts.
5.0L engines tended to have C4s not C6s.
Not an overdrive tranny. Fairly robust unit. Can take a fair amount of power. Eats about 60 less HP than a C6. ""

Now look at your trans and pan.....

stuart1 is gaining momentum as a positive member of FTE.
Like was stated.

Not C4.

That list does not show cast Cruiso's at all.

Yours will be a cast iron CruisOmatic and could even have a cooler mounted close to the transmission vs in the rad.

As original.

1965/67 F100/350 with a 352 uses MX Cruise-O-Matic only.

1965/67 F100/250 with 240/300 uses a C4.

1965/67 F350 with 240/300 uses MX Cruise-O.

No C6 transmissions in F Series trucks till 1968.
