I'm very skeptical of the mechanic also. I don't think he followed the correct procedure. Did n't they say something about putting anti-seize on the threads instead of the ceramic (which IIRC, is contrary to what the TSB says)?
I am needing help or advice on removing the right head on my 5.4L engine; seems the last spark plug decided to break into 3 pieces; I retrived two , but the third is now in the cylinder. I am good with engines, having overhauled several, but this Ford engine presents new challenges. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I just gotta ask how in the devil did you get the shell down in the cylinder? just curious I also broke my back plug driver side and did get the shell and porcelin out and was concerned about possibly having it get in the cylinder I made out ok. And to your pulling the head unless you have great deal of engine experience this can really test your patience, tools, and knowhow. I heard from others you need to lift the cab to access that head. and you know each head has a cam chain and phaser that needs to be degree set. scared me when i read about it. good luck to ya!
