I found the part number easy enough, but where it goes, I can't remember. Mebbe someone else will know.

The knock sensor is located on the side of the block, what it does is detect pinging/knocking and retards the timing when needed. You can test it by taking a small hammer and lightly but quickly tapping on the block next to it, if it's working the idle should slow down a bit as the timing changes.
