I am most interested in your plan to go to 3.55 gears. What is your present gear ratio, Ford or Non-Ford gears for the change and estimated cost for the switch?

Do you mean that the airdam hangs down from the bumper 4"?
Also interested in your gear change. I read somewhere that when Ford decided to change the gears from 3.73 to 3.55 they expected a 1/2 mile increase in MPG. Let us know what you are changing from and how you do with it.

I ordered the bigger air dam yesterday for my 08 even though I really don't like the looks of it and I was looking at covering up those 3 holes also. I'm willing to try just about anything to get another mile or so per gallon! Here's another thing that I discovered. I bought a Leer topper for mine last week (the 100XL) and my MPG jumped up by 1.0 MPG almost instantly.

are you talking about the two holes where the lift hookups stick out? Did you really cover the hole where the air flow goes to the radiator?

We should have the Nascar boys look at our trucks. Bet they could help alot with the aerodynamics. Going down the Highway now is like pushing a 6 x 8' sheet of plywood. That is also why above 60mph the fuel milage also really drops.

I think you'd want formula 1 people to look at trucks, Nascars are lucky to hit 6MPG racing :-P

there is nothing to see i used white tape to cover openings. try it and you will find a increase in mpg and no temp change.

Yeah, but if you could get 6 mpg at 180 mph in your truck, you'd be doing pretty good.
