Question Miles Vs Kilometers

I would like to change the odo to kilometers, like in Canada, it is possible? and just changing that part "bolt on", or implies any other modifications?. If its possible and an easy swap, anybody of the Canadian people could find one in the junkards in Canada for me? or at the stealers ship or anyone knows if powerstrokershop.com carries it?

thanks in advance.

Thanks for the link. I want to change to KM because I live in Mexico, and here every thing is in KM, for me is more dificult to calculate the MPG, and I cant check the distances in the road to see if may odo is doing well, do you know what I mean?.

No problem getting you one , Ill check prices tomorrow.
Only thing is your mileage, as you would want one around the same.
Honest autowreckers charge the same for all mileages but the dishonest guys want more for a LOW mileage odometer.

Yup all you have to do is change the head. I did it in my 93 f150 becuase it was a Canada model. I think i still have to old head somewhere I can look when I get off of work. I took me about 15 min to do the swap. Im not sure on the KM reading. If it matters a lot to you then I can swap it in my truck and tell you.

after you find one you could probably send it to these guys to have it matched you current miles and just tell them in KM how many are on your truck. Then they can program the new one to the correct KM.

Thanks to all of you, Ill be waiting for more information: Do you know if one from a gasser ( F150) could be work? or it has to be from a diesel?. And that one from the 93 could fit?

About the milage I dont care, but if it could match with the actual milage, would be great, I have now about 143K. miles

The speedo head itself should be the same for a gasser or diesel but the cluster as a whole is different. The speedo head can be removed and replaced so yes if you found one for a gasser of the same year or close to it should work.

An added bonus is you can go much farther in kilometers per tank of fuel.
It really improves the economics of driving.
If the US would change to kilometers, we could probably reduce our dependence on foreign oil by about 1/3.

I know that the volt meters are different thats for sure. Learned that the hard way. I tried replacing the whole cluster and then it didnt charge becuase it was differnet so i just replaced the head and it all worked great.

I have it. Its been sitting in my closet for a little longer than a year now. PM me if you are intrested. Oh and I know that the milage is pretty close to 140 something when it is converted.
