Kelsey Hayes 1953 shows their part #23427 which is a 15" x 5.5" having their "R" center which has no hub cap clips but is pictured showing nubs on the inside of the center indent. It is shown for Ford, not Merc nor Lincoln. Ford part #O1AS-1015B. What the application was I can't say. Maybe Bill can complete the picture.

O1A-1015 replaced by O1A-1015-B .. Wheel-5 Lug / 15" / 5.50" bolt circle (pattern) / Use with tube type tires.
There was no such thing as O1AS.
Fits: 1940/48 Ford/Mercury Passenger Cars.
This part number was not used after 1948 on anything, but the bolt circle (pattern) is the same as the F1/F100's used.

O1A-B might have been replaced by this wheel, but I could not find a reference.
TAAA-1015-B .. Wheel-SPLIT RING Type / 5 lug / 15" / 5.50" bolt circle / 4.50" wide / Use with tube type tires / Fits: 1948/65 F1/F100.

Then there's this:
B5C-1015-A .. Wheel / 5 lug / 15" / 5.50" bolt circle / 5.00" wide / Use with tubeless tires / Fits: 1948/56 F1/F100.

There's no such part number prefix of: O1AS; COIA; 8CS; or 8MS in any Ford car/truck parts catalog.
O1AS = O1A / CO1A = O1A / 8CS = 8C / 8MS = 8M.
Beginning in 1957, Ford parts catalogs have the following wheel manufacturer ID numbers to Ford part numbers: Alcoa, Budd, Firestone, K-H.
Ford has not made their own wheels since Model T days, and the only wheels Ford made back then were wood spoked.
The wire wheels were either made by K-H or in some rare cases, Buffalo.

Maybe this is it. Back in the body of the catalog it cites that number as "Special Equipment" on half tons for the years '40 through '42. Could this be like the discussion we had a while back on the 18" Rural Delivery wheels where Ford didn't include them in the normal parts listings? My catalog also shows them sold in sets under the K-H number for trailer applications.
