Can anyone help me on why my mirrors on my 2003 F-150 will not stay working from what i have heard it is a problem on many models not working. I have takin the switch out and cleaned the connections and it will work for about 2 weeks can anyone let me know what to do. Do i need to buy a new switch or just keep cleaning the connections?

I also have one other problem with this truck the orignal owner tore off the spare tire cable underneath the truck. I am not sure were to look for one of these. Are they bolted on or are they rivited on?

If it works after cleaning the connection I would change the switch.

As far as the cable I think that it is riveted on. You could find one in a junk yard, cut the rivets with something like an air chizel, and bolt it under your truck.
