Electric Water Pumps-Are They Practical?

What are the pros and cons for running an electric water pump on say a 78 F-250 460 used as a hauling truck. Not a race truck or anything like that just an every day work horse. Also if you have used an electric water pump on anything was the HP increase noticable and were there any milage gains?

The little bit I know about them I think you want to stay with your mechanical pump. Installing an electric will require you to have e-fans since the mechanical fan will be gone. A everyday workhorse will be better served by the stock pump.
