Wow! I've never seen demo derby trucks before! That is a good use of a rig that is going to get crushed, at least it gets used up. Sad that old pickups get to this point of dis-repair though. I am digging the diamond plate welded to the doors to hold them shut.
thanks, the diamond plate i used but really dont like it, hard to go around the bends and what not.....i got it at the scrap yard in about 10ft strips. works but hard to work with. i used the same stuff on all 3 i posted. this year i used all the old bentup fence posts i found around the farm (still got more and we welded 6 cars now)

sucks i know but i may as well since it was heading there anyways. the green chevy i drove it home, i also saved it from being loaded on a trailer also (it needed a door window) the 92 merc was an ex- girlfreinds....$100 and threw a rod on the way home....figured more of a reason to drop in the 283 and 9 inch.

Sheesh!
I feel ripped off, heh, last pickup I scrapped was a toasted 88, still was alot of metal in it, but I couldn't get a dime for it, so some yard took it for free.
At least the 76 I scrapped(no worries it was a rust bucket) I was given a whopping $75 for.. This was a couple years ago now, still tho!
Even after keeping every conceivable or decent part, I still find myself needing something-for instance, my driver side interior door handle broke, now I can't find one.
Moving to another town doesn't help to find stuff, hehe, until you get to know the area.
It's all good!
