How much can I tighten valve body bolts

Today I dropped the trans pan on my 77 150.My C-6 was making bubbles so I figued the valve body bolts were loose or some thing.I went ahead and dropped the pan and sure enough a few of them SOB's were loose. When I changed the filter last year,I torked them to spec but for some reason they came loose.

I was just wondering how much can I safely tighten them, with out breaking something?

thanks

Don't go past the recommended torque. The valve body bolts go into soft aluminum. Too much torque and you will be installing helicoils.

Ageed....not much torque is required to lock down the valve body.

I've always started at the center and worked my way out in all directions.
