I would not assume it's ground. The only way to know what it's for is to take an ohmmeter and see what it has continuity with. If you touch one lead to the mystery terminal, and the other lead to the housing, and get continuity, then I will go along with the guy at the parts store.

If you do not get continuity there, then check all the other terminals, put the switch in another position, and check them again. Do this for each position till you figure it out. More than likely you will not need it, but then again if you find out it's function, it may be useful to you to hook something up.

There are two ignition switches.

C3AZ11572A .. (Motorcraft SW353)

Fits: 1961/66 F100/1100 / 1966 Bronco / 1965/66 Mustang / 1963/65 Falcon & Fairlane
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
C7UZ11572A .. (Motorcraft SW583)

Fits: 1967 Econoline / 1967/77 Bronco

In 1967, Ford said that C7UZ could replace C3AZ, but not the other way around.

C7UZ has the extra connector.

Well, Im no genius..but from looking at it in the vehicle..it looks like a ACC terminal.
I hooked it all up and turned the switch on...everything worked...but the headlights...
not sure about that one...could be bulbs? switch? who knows...Ill have to check
out the wiring diagrams... but fans, wipers, ignition...all seemed to work fine!

The headlights have their own seperate power feed, usually from the starter solenoid area. But you have an older truck, and I am not familiar with how they distributed the power in the older vehicles.
