E4OD - Errorcode 1, 23 and 29

Hi, my -92 E350 7.3 E4OD have a flashing od-ligt and I'm getting errorcode 1, 23 and 29. Check engine lamp flashes in this order: 1 (weak/very short), 23, 23, 1, 29 29.

What does these codes mean?

The trans misses gears, hard shifts, can't decide which gear to chose, "hard" downshift while stopping. TPS/FIPL reads 0.98V and goes smothy up to 3.8V and TPS/FIPL are the "bad black one".

Anyone who can list/link to all the different errorcodes which the trans can set? I cant find a list anywhere...

Thanks!

"1" is not a fault code, it is a separator between the EO/ER and the continuous memory codes.

23 = a problem with the TPS or the throttle mechanicals

29 = PSOM output signal problem

Does your RABS work correctly? The PSOM uses the rear differential RABS sensor as its input. A bad sensor will screw up the whole shifting strategy and the PCM won't know when to shift properly.

Sounds like other vehicles that have a bad VSS sensor...

I do not know if the RABS are working propperly or not but I will have to find a wet slippery place to test it. Since the TPS/FIPL are the old black one I think will change it any way.

Where did you find these codes?

I have just tried another instrument and the transmission shifts like it should.

Then I guess it was the PSOM which was faulty. I forgot to test if the cruisecontrol started working again.

Since I'm in the electronics buisness I took the instrumentcluster apart and checked the PSOM PCB and it was full of bad solderpoints. I'm excited to try it tomorrow!

In the factory service manual (PCED).
