if its legit, thats very impressive, 390@3500 compared to 365@3750 which means well prob be getting right about 300tq at a 1k rpms, and i dont see how that would suck if true only 14ftlbs behind the most, dodges 5.7

Cool Ford F150 Hp

If Ford Only Gets 20extra Hp Out Of The 5.4 That Is Really Sad I Think The 300 Hp Rating Came Out In 04 And 5 Years Later Only 20 More I Hope This Is Not True And Please Nobody Say Go Get A Lighting If U Want To Go Fast

Ya the torque is impressive but think about it. The majority people who buy trucks are mostly going to use them for grocery getters. Therefore all they look at is hp (and probably dont even care at what rpm). Heck they probably don't even know what torque means in a truck. Oh and personally I dont really care what manufactures claim. Its all in the seat of the pants...

I don't know. With gas going up every week I think your going to see a large decline in "grocery getters" using full size trucks.

You can have any powertrain combo in the 09 F150 you want as long is its a V-8 with a automatic.
What's the Best/Worst combo for high gas prices ?
Stick shift 6 cyc best / v-8 with auto worst
I think The oil company's will love the new F150 ,We will see if the public thinks the same

Engines

Has anyone heard if Ford is still going to offer the 6.2L "Hurricane" V8? I certainly hope that they do. As a long time Ford Truck owner and dealership service manager, this is something that they need to do. I had heard through some friends at Ford that the engine was to be rated at 425hp and 500ft lbs of torque. Does anyone else have any info on this long over due motor? I think that they should shelf the 4.4L Diesel option, especially with diesel over $4.25 per gallon. No one will be able to afford to fill it up!!

Not in 2009MY.

Remember this engine replaces the V10 and is really targeted at the Super Duty, so it may only show up in the F-150 in "limited" applications.
