fords and kenworths is starting off with a positive reputation.
next 460 build

working on my 3rd 460 build now, the first 2 were built for low end power, but this ones a little different. Im looking for power from like 2000 rpm and up. I have a 750 cfm edlebrock carburetor to use and was thinking of going with there 7166 manifold. The heads are stock with a port job, the block is .040 over with a stock style piston, and will be buttoning it together with main studs and girdle, and headstuds. The block has been shaved slightly, so Id assume the compression will go up a few points. Ill be running full msd ignition with there 6al box. So first question Is the rocker arm bolt on a small block and big block the same, because I have a set of pedastal mount rollers off a 302? should I run shorty headers or long tube headers? As far as a camshaft heres were im lost, I feel something around 220 on the duration for both sides and around 495-515 on the lift on both sides do you guys think thats about right? Should i go with a larger cam? also how long is a stock pushrod?

This is going to be a mud truck\pulling truck, Its going to live in low range by the way, but i want something I can really stretch out the rpms with. Im also running a 4speed with a 3.55 rear end and 33 or 35 inch tire. Block is a 71' and the heads are 73'. open for all suggestions.
