If I'm not mistaken your front leaf springs will need replaced, probably an entire engine/tranny swap with computer(s), wireing harness, driveshaft(s), transfer case if applicable, exhaust, dual battery conversion, all accessories, probably the radiator and fan shroud engine and tranny mounts?, possibly different cross members. Pretty much you would be better off buying a truck with a 7.3L unless you can do this all yourself and don't need the truck anytime soon and have a lot of money. A new, remaned, or used V10 would be a much faster, cheaper and easier refit for your truck. I'm sure someone will come along with a more through understanding of this and correct me if I'm wrong or have forgotten anything.

dkf is gaining momentum as a positive member of FTE.
I'd forget the 7.3l or any other powerstroke. Look into putting in a 12V or 24V cummins. A lot of people have done it and the cummins is a fine engine. DESTROKED: Cummins Conversions FordCummins.com: Home

OR you could put in a Ford reman 2V with a warrenty. A guy recently put one in his truck, it was like $3500 just for the reman V10 from Ford.

I'd-

A) Put a reman in there and drive it.

B) Put a reman in there and trade it for a diesel if that's what you want

or

C) Put a Cummins in it.

Mike

The truck started rod knocking real bad. One of my guys decided to drive it home like that. I already have a 7.3 in my main truck so I will just look for a remanned motor. I don't have very much time to have it sitting and not working.

Thank you.

Meanie is new and has a neutral reputation at this point.
With fuel prices like they are, I'd stick with the gasser.
