Valley pan trouble

Is it true you have to remove the timing cover to get the Valley pan off? I removed my intake but the pan doesn't clear the heads. I didn't want to remove the timing cover am I doing something wrong?

The stock valley cover will tilt enough to clear the ports at the heads once the intake is removed. Timing cover does not need to come off. One of those aftermarket aluminum covers will be iffy if it hasn't been notched to clear the intake ports at the heads though.

The cover is stock but does not clear the heads even with the cutouts.

56effie,,, you may have to use a small screwdriver or something to pry the valley cover over and pop it up past the intake ports. Don't worry you won't break anything. It's a snug fit but it will come out

Thanks for the help, I will try to gently pry it past the head.
