Smelling Coolant "no leaks"

My 08 6.4 has about 3k miles on it now. I have noticed that when I stand outside the truck with the engine off, I am getting a anti-freeze smell. If you know this smell, then you understand how peculiar it is and how difficult it would be to mistaken it for something else. I cant find any leaks @ the engine or on the ground under the truck. Has anyone else experienced this ???

My '04 has had the same problem. No loss of coolant, no overheating. Mine was head gaskets and is going back in for the same thing 10k miles later. I dont know if the
'08's have the same problem though.

I just had the same thing happen a couple of hours ago. I wasn't sure if it was the truck or my work. KingRanch250, have you noticed any power loss or any kind of change in performance? I thought my truck was starting to run a little doggy yesterday, pulling a trailer of rock, but thought maybe it was just in my head.

no noticeable power loss in my truck. I just pulled a 31' contender from Houston to Louisiana last week. It pulled the hell out of it. I had my foot in it good and it never overheated. I did not notice the smell while I was pulling. :strange" !!!

My truck seems to be running fine now too. Pulled our boat home from storage the other night and it was like it wasn't even there. I haven't smelt the antifreeze smell since the initial happening. Perhaps gjrock is right, probably need to get into the shop and check it out, so it doesn't get any worse.

I had the same thing happen coming home from a trip. Popped the hood up and noticed a small amount of coolant had come out of the fuel coolant reservoir ( rubber tube ) and landed right on the exhaust system. Don't know why, it has a 20# cap on it. The beast was still doing its thing, no performance loss
