I will be going around the DC beltway between 9:00 AM and 10:30 AM. There shouldn't be that much traffic at that hour.

I'm sure that you can make better time than what I posted. Knoxville in 10 hours is 60 MPH average.

I guess that you will pick up I95 in MD. What time will you get to the DC Beltway? Maybe we can hook up there, since I will come over Rt 50 and the Bay Bridge.

Barry, What time do you want to leave? I'll have to gas up around Manassas VA. We could hook up there.

Would it help if I modified my scheduled by 1 hour? That schedule was just a WAG to get everyone on the same page.

BTW, I went on gasbuddy.com and mapped out the cheapest premium gas that I could find. I also found diesel @ 4.04/gallon in Mint Spring VA near Staunton VA. It is a Citgo Station at exit #217 off I 81.

The DC beltway is too unpredictable to say that it should be ok between 9 and 10:30am.

It's unpredictable at almost any hour, but how do you get around DC without using it?

I just checked wtopnews.com at 9:00 AM on Tuesday 5/13. The time from I95 on the northside to I95 on the southside via I495 travelling West/South is 33 minutes. That is a 2 minute delay. Most of that is at the I95 merge on the northside. There is a 13 minute delay on the I95/495 travelling East/North from the merge on the southside to the split on the northside, but most of that is around Alexandria VA. I will get on at US50 and should be OK.
I 66 westbound has been clear all morning, although eastbound is heavy.
A little slow is OK, as long as it is moving. A 10 or 15 minute delay is acceptable.

Thanks for the traffic report for the day before I leave. Good luck with the traffic on your trip whatever time you hit it.

We decided to have the Wokt with the baby,Amy and I airlifted to Knoxville after reading your posts. Even with the hundreds of trips I've personally made on that road....I'm scared now.
