Well yesterday I pulled a 3500lb car trailer with 4 quads on it over the coast range mountains here in NW Oregon to ride at the beach for the day. With 4 adults in the truck and the trailer full of bikes I got 11.9 mpg for the 186 mile round trip according to the lie-o-meter and 11.8 hand calculated going 60-65 mph over the mountains. The Edge was set on 2 which is the towing setting. That mileage even includes 1 regen which started on the way home after we got out of the moutains back on flat ground and lasted about 15 minutes and ended just before we got back home. I think next trip I will set the Edge on level 1 which is the mileage setting and see if the mpg improves any. I think I am getting my moneys worth out of this product so far.

Good news, I did a quick calc and at just 12000 miles a year if you get 16 instead of 13 which is what I would expect, then @4.00$ /gallon one will save 700$ and if it were to get to 5$ one would save closer to 900$. Most people do way more than 12K a year so it looks like it pays for itself easily the first year. I am liking this more every day. Thanks for the update.

Exacty what I was thinking. If these MPG numbers are true I may be ordering one real soon.

Im not starting a tuner thread or being that guy that says "pay to play" but I just thought I would share some info a friend of mine shared with me. He is a tech at the local dealer. I was asking him about a DPF delete and tuner just to prevent regen. No HP or Torque upgrades, just delete the regen. He explained to me that they can recall the last 10 calibrations in the PCM so even doing a regen delete would void my warranty. He kind of lost me but he said there is a PCM, TCM and ECM and each stores previous calibrations. 1 was for the engine, another for the trans, I forget the other but the point is that (according to him) there is no erasing memory and it is detectable. It doesnt flash any codes but should you need an injector replaced or something like that, the first thing they do is pull the last 10 calibrations to see if you have done anything.

So I am guessing in this case the tech didnt physically see the Edge box, it didnt throw any codes, and he had no reason to check the calibration. Had he checked the calibration it would have been a different story. Just FYI, trying to share information.

The Edge Juice w/ Attitude does not "flash" a different calibration into the pcm. It plugs inline with the pcm and manipulates the input and output signals of the pcm. The only thing the pcm may know is that certain perameters may have been out of a calibrated range at one point in time. You may be thinking of the Edge Evolution, which does flash a new calibration into the pcm everytime you want to change the power level or transmission shifting points.

Admittedly, I havent researched the different versions of the Edge so that does make sense. When I talked to my friend the conversation revolved around the DPF delete which obviously requires modifying the calibration to prevent the regen.

Keep us posted on your results.

Edge Juice w/ Attitude & SCT

I have a 6.4, I first put on the SCT w/DPF delete. I got more power but once you set your tire size you can't change it. I later bought the Edge Juice w/ Attitude becease it has a nice readout w/ more options and WOW a lot more power. I was towing my camper and it was like it wasn't there. I think I found the right combination. I'm sure it would burn my 35" tires, I just can't see beating a $53,000 toy like that.

I too have been looking into the Edge products and have two questions for those of you running them...

1. Are you using any exhaust or intake products with the Edge. If so what was it and are you happy with it?

2. Does the Speedometer Calibration function only apply to the read out on the Edge monitor itself or does it change the trucks Speedometer gauge as well?

It's good to hear that you've been happy with the product, I'm getting close to buying one. Although I've been considering on waiting for Banks to come out with there's. Any thoughts....

edge w/juice

I have stock intake. Not in hurry to do that, a friend is having problems with his truck giving codes. I have stock exhaust except for the delete pipe. My Speedo is 2MPH off instead of 4, but that’s OK. The edge has a mount that look factory and give you a lot of options.

jhess whats the deal with the codes and for JCHH Edge doesnt have or doesnt have any intention to have their product work with exhaust mods. They claim to be very above board with EPA stuff.

codes

My friend is getting mass air flow code. He just reset it and I'll know tomarow if it comes back. He does have a K&N on it. I have heard a low
opinion about K&N. Also I'm Very pleased about the mileage that I get now. Today I went to (54miles) some stop and start but most 58MPH back road driving and I got 18.1MPG on the lie O Meter. Meter would read lower because I run a larger tire, about 3% off.

The filter is your friends problem. I would think he might have got to much oil on the filter and it is messing with the MAF. He call take it off and clean it which might fix it. If not it is the way the pcm reads the MAF in correlation with the regen system. I had the same problem, but once i turned the regen system off i never had the issue again.
