Help!!

Hey guys!! My name is Jeff Smith and I live in Cabot. I am looking for a D0VE or thick web D1VE or an aftermarket. I run a 557 BBF on Alcohol and N2O and spun a cam bearing and a rod bearing too. My current block is a D0VE-A 4 bolt main, it almost was lost this time so I need to get a back up. If any body has one or knows of one please let me know. Thanks.

Sorry to hear about your loss. As far as I know I am the only one here that has a D0VE engine. I am planning on getting it rebuilt though. Where in Cabot are you? I live there as well, I would love to check out your truck.

Mudder you should trade me your 77' for my bronco. That away you can stuff that 460 into that and wouldnt have to waste that legendary 300. Or are you even putting it into your 77'? btw welcome to the Arkansas chapter Jeff.

I have hopes and dreams to one day stuff that monster under the hood. I don't know how long it will take till that happens though. So for now I will run with the 300, when it does come out I will make sure it does go to a good home. There is nothing wrong with it, I just prefer that 460 power for off-road!

Jeff, was there any damage when you spun the bearings? You should be able to get it machined and new bearings put in. Or am I missing something since you run alcohol?

^ All the perfect reason to trade. Short wheelbase matched with a 460. What mods do you have to do to drop a 300 inplace of a 351? Will the same trans work? My trany has a good warranty on it wouldnt want to give that up. Oh and what kind of gas mileage are you getting with it? My buddy has one and he gets around 20 mpg.

The 300 is supposed to swap out with a 351w from what I have read. It shouldn't take much to swap it over. Maybe just some measuring to check everything. As for milage, I dunno. Mater has no insurance so I don't get to drive it around.

Lol the bronc is the same way. Just sitting there... Its nice to know that it should be an easy swap. If that 351 ever gives out (400k and still going) a 300 is want I want to replace it with. That way it would actually be drivable gas mileage wise.

Andy, When the cam bearing spun it took out some material of the bore. They amke a
.015 overbearing but thats all. The next step would to be to go to roller bearings and Craft wants $500 to bore out for those. The roller bearings only cost me $36!!! So if I can get a back up block and get it ready it would be cheaper.

I live off 107 between Cabot and Vilonia. I'll post when I've got it back together and anyone that wants to can come see and hear it. Did I mention that it makes 1000 hp before the 650 shot of N2O?

Man that really sucks it took a chunk out. I have been doing some looking around for prices to do the machine work on my block. I have always wanted to do a 557 but I will stick with a 465. I am just slightly going to build the engine up. Post some pics of that monster! Where do you race at? What truck are you running it in? Do you by chance have a manual non-balanced flywheel laying around?

I forgot to mention I race anywhere in an 10 hour drive of Arkansas.

I dont have a flywheel, but I do have a good amount of cast parts if anyone needs anything.

Well get with me and come look, anyone is welcome. I have all this stuff from when i was using OEM parts. Now its all Billet aftermarket so I dont need to hord it anymore. I have head studs, pushrods, D0OE rods, a 429 short block,+.040, that is fresh and will be a 12.5 to 1 motor with D0VE heads and more stuff. Give it a look and make me some resonable offers.

A 429 short block sounds nice but I am sure you have all kinds of expencive stuff in it. I would have to lower the 12.5 to 1 so I could run pump gas. What would you want for the block only? Maybe a trade of sorts for blocks? The only thing is mine is only a 2bolt main, you would have to convert it over. I would love to come over and take a peek at what you have. Scott hit it on the head, I love that candy!!! LOL
