Exclamation Ford offering BIG rebates on 08's

(I poster this in the car buying section but thought it would be seen more here)

Around here on the commercials they are advertising 0% for 60 months AND $2,000.00 cash back on F-150. I believe a 1,000 of the 2,000 is owner loyalty, which the super duty has had for awhile but never the F-150. Looks like another plan to keep current F-150 owners coming back.

This is also the first I have ever seen Ford offer both together......they must really want to move them before the 09's hit the lots in September.

It looks like they will only get better closer to summer.......so for those looking to buy it's looking like a great deal!

Ford rebates are getting better, but are still far away from Dodge. My buddy bought a new '08 Ram 1500 with the Hemi and almost every option available. List was a little over $37K and he paid $25K! The biggest selling point for him was the Lifetime Powertrain warranty, which is not offered by GM or Ford. I would not buy a Dodge, but for what he uses it for it is a nice truck and comfortable as a daily driver. I'm sure the rebate program by Ford will only get better; by September I'll bet you will see large $ rebates plus the 0% financing for 60 months.

We really don't have many on our lot right now. I believe we only have 6 left. Sold them all early in the year when the weather was bad, and gas wasn't as much. Have a ton of mustangs left, and some Super D's. Lots of Edge's too. The Focus' are all sold out, and we're trying to get some more next week. I like my F150.

He's trying to unload those for about $100.00 over invoice if it's the 4.2l engine, standard xmsn. He's actually trying to lure in customers to buy the bigger ticket trucks, but wants to unload those XL's too. Clearing the lots is a blast in preparation for the the new ones. Ford's still making a profit on the end-era trucks. The tooling was all paid for in 04-06 models.

Rebates are relative, here in San Diego the #'s are $5,500 for Supercab and $6,500 for Crewcab. This along with the price of fuel shows up in the resale. Used are whole sale at around $4,000 below usual whole sale price. If you buy new plan on keeping until the wheels fall of or know you are going to take it the hard way.

I traded in my 03 F250 Superduty 7.3 4X4 Supercab on Friday 5/1/08, for an 08 F150
FX4 Off Road 4X4 Crewcab, loaded with options. The rebate was $4500.00 plus $1000.00 Ford Loyalty Cash.
I miss my Powerstroke but no longer had a need for the load capacity, and towing of my Superduty. Besides, I needed several thousand dollars in body work to bring the Superduty back to something to be proud of. After towing trackhoes and tractors around for 156,000 miles, it was in dire need of tranny overhaul. Still got 14k for it on trade. With rebates and 1.9% I came out WAY ahead, (In my opinion). I'll have another Superduty someday, but as of now, it is a lot of truck to drive around empty.

Question for you guys - would using a pin for the x-plan be beneficial or should I just go in and work out a deal on my own based upon the current offerings on the '08s? I just want to know that I'm not leaving too much on the table when I go looking next week for a (hopefully) '08 f-150. Thanks!

I would go in and work them for a while and then tell them you have X-plan.....the deal should only get better.

One thing with x-plan is it's kind of a set price and no working those numbers.....
