Cabin Air Filter

2002 Ford, 4.2L, F150

I purchased a Wix cabin air filter, 4876, and after removing bottom cover I discovered the filter area was blanked off. Does anyone know if it's possible to retrofit a filter in this air box.

Very few of the F150's came with the cab filter. There was a kit to add it on, but I believe it was discontinued, so it will probably be very difficult to find. I'm sure you could find a way to add it on, if you really want it and use some creativity.

Yes it was discontinued. I've thought about making my own, but haven't put any time into it.

I, for one, would love to see pictures of the factory set up so I could fab up my own. Cabin filters are one of those things you laugh at until you try it...

There was a dealer installed kit.

Luberfiner filters says no.
