4 speed OD in a 6 cyl

I have given up trying to get an adapter shaft made to fit a 6 cyl adapter housing. Does anyone know a good source for a V8 adapter shaft? Advanced Adapters wants almost $400

Which trans are you trying to adapt? Are you needing a stock Bronco V8 adaptor shaft?

I'm adapting the toploader 4 speed overdrive with the top cane shifter fronm a 86 F150 to my Dana 20. All of the aftermarket produced conversion shafts are sit up for using a V8 intermediate housing.

Can you use a cut down V8 shaft?

I had planned that at first. But the stock 2wd shaft is tapered down in the location I need the splines. The only other solution I thought of is to cut the shaft and have the 28 spline end rewelded. I am afraid about getting a shop to weld it straight.
