Has ford ever made a 5 speed for the f150 with a 5.4 I know some 4.6 with a 5 speed and the f250 5.4

 

Nope, the 5 speed was never in the F150. you would have to step up to a F250 to get the ZF 5 speed.

 

No 5.4L/5-speed combination in the F-150. The 5-speed that the F-150 uses isnt rated for the power that the 5.4L puts out.

 

i have only ever seen one in my entire life...and it was a custom jobber the truck originally was a 5.4 auto but the truck had a 5 speed mounted to it....not sure which transmission...but i know it was not the stock Mazda M50D.

i had the ZF 5 speed in an older F250--- very nice trans.

 

I have a reg cab 5 speed 4x4 with the 4.6. The tranny has served me well and the clutch is still original. It may not have what respect from some but from personal use for 11+years its never been wrenched on. It has over 283,000 miles on it. The battery, alt, all oem. Its an exceptional truck. I can still smoke up the tires up through 2nd gear and get a nice cherp in 3rd.

 

that ZF tranny...is the bellhousing much difference?...be neat to see a nice ZF mounted to a done up 4.6L
