So now instead of 25-30 mpg on the highway, I get 17-18. In town, don't ask.

That's precisely why I won't buy a new truck. All the toys they load on a new vehicle don't interest me at all.

WE can fix that 17-19MPG.

.... 04 SD 6.0 13.5 MPH, on the HWY...I like everything about the truck except $4.60 a gallon diesel.

My F150 got close to 19 mpg all day at 70mph hwy....I'm affraid my 250 wouldn't get that on a tow truck hook...

What would be the mileage on the 04 SD if it were powered by a 5.4L or the V10?

It's a 6.0 Power Stroke.... I like the heck out of the truck and the engine... I was just wrong to think it would get equal or better MPG than my F150 4x4... not even close.

I'm looking into a Cummins Ford conversion... I've not had any trouble with the 6.0 but at 8mpg difference with a cummins it will pay for itself...and I've tried every thing to up the mpg.

If I had it to do over I've stick with the F150...but I sold that so here I am.

I was looking at purchasing 6.0 Power Stroke. If 8MPG is all she gets there is NO point to go to the Diesel.

Well she does better than 8mpg but nowhere near 18 which my F150 did without driving like a granny.

If you can get a good condition 7.3 PS, they not only get better mpg they're bullet proof. I bought a tuner last night in a last chance, if that doesn't work I'll swap it...

Ours gets 17-19 mpg no tow. 10-11 towing depending on which mountains we go through going to Florida.
