Oasis or Carfax

Question. I was getting some fuel on Saturday, and some idiot backed into the left side of my bed with her Ranger. She claimed she didn't see me. When I get it repaired, will it show up on those reports? Two dents about the size of a quarter each, and scratched my damn clear coat.

No it won't show up on Oasis, because Oasis just tracks the repairs made by Ford dealers under warranty.

If there was a police report that will show up on Carfax.

If the repair is under $500 the repair may or may not show up - ask the shop you deal with if they report to Carfax, and what their price threshold is.

Her insurance company's requirement, under the law, is to make you whole. That means they need to not only repair the vehicle, but also compensate you for dimished value. Don't budge on that -- tell them you want dimished value and don't take their first offer (they always low-ball on dimished value).

my "95" was recently totaled and the insurance company made an offer of just over 3 grand to me... I did my homework and gave them my counter offer of 7 grand... they agreed... do your homework on the value... get numbers and present them to the insurance company....

Yeah... they don't volunteer the diminished value information. Used to not pay it until they started getting sued for it, now some states *require* that they pay, and most states say they must pay if you request it.
