code 22,31,51,53,54 on 86 f150 392 fi

I just rewired a open circuit from pin 1 to eec relay and fuel pump relay. Now I am getting codes 22,31 51 53 54 when I try to start th 302. On the wiring diagram it show vref(5 volts) which I have. There is a black/white tracer wire that is common to all the sensors I am getting codes for. I don't see where it goes anywhere except to the various sensors. Doesn't connect to a voltage or a ground. Am I shooting myself down.

The black/white may be the problem. It is the signal return that goes back to the computer. When you take your 5 volt readings, I would put the neg of the meter on the black/white, not the ground of the truck. If you are not getting a good reading to the black/white, I would trace it back to the computer. The terminal it goes to is #46. #20, #60 and #40 is a ground for the computer.

Thanks Dave. I had already looked at the wiring for a few more years trucks and some of them showed the blk/wh going to pin 46. I grounded the blk/wh at the EGR and got rid of all my codes and the truck ran great and no black smoke

When you get time, I would try to wire the black/white back to to #46. However it would be easiest to do. For some reason they did not use the regular ground for this circuit, and I would be uneasy using a regular ground like the egr housing on a permanent basis.
