rattle noise @ idle

I have a 2000 scab with a 4.2 and 5 speed its a 2 wheel with 132000 miles it has a rattle at idle seems to be the exhaust it has a hollow sound but its just loud and it seems to happen after i drive it for a while and it doesnt always rattle it just comes and goes and i dont hear it when im driving i would hear it if i was driving and it was going on any ideas ill look at it tomarrow in the daylight

hi, i have read that engine lift brackets come loose and can make a similar sound, hope this helps bokker.

FWIW, the catalytic converters can also break inside and make a rattling sound.
That happened on my 2000 at about the mileage you are at now.
