I have no brakelights,4 ways,or power at the fuse

I have an '87 Bronco with a carbed 5.8 in it.
My brake lights and 4 way hazards aren't working,so I took a look at it today.
I wasn't getting any power at the brake light switch,so I checked the fuse.It looked fine, but I changed it anyway and there was still nothing.

I pulled the fuse out and checked for juice at the terminals in the fuse box,and there is none on either side.I looked at a schematic in the Haynes manual and all the wires that are supposed to be there are correct and look fine.

Where do I start looking to find out why there's no power going to the fuse?
(It's the #1 20amp fuse in this truck)

Thanks

I would pull the fuse box and see if you can take it apart and see what the problem is. You could also find another fuse that is hot all the time(such as the cigarette lighter fuse), pull it out and find the hot side with the fuse out. Buy a fuse tap, slip it over the correct hot leg of the fuse, and then jump this over to another fuse tap onto the brake fuse.

This is how the fuse box is made inside. It has a buss that ties all the hot all the time fuses together, and another buss that ties all the key-on fuses together.

Thanks Dave.
A guy on another site said that the Y should be hot and coming from a fusible link off of the starter relay,so I'll try to trace it first.
If it doesn't work out,I'll have to jump it.

I'd like to try to keep all the wiring stock so I don't burn the thing to the ground, which is the way my luck usually runs.

Sounds like this is wired the same as my 87 Ranger.

If thats the case, the fuse link on yours is spliced to fuse 1 AND to the ignition switch and your truck would'nt run if the fuse link was blown.

Take another look at your wiring diagram.

Well,I fixed it today.
I traced the yellow wire from the firewall,to the starter relay and found a break in it.
Replaced most of the length of it and I'm back to normal.
