I have put my 74 EB up for sale in the classifieds on this website. I would like to hear from fellow EB owners about my asking price. I put a number in but I really had no idea what to enter. Would some of you please take a few minutes and look at the pictures and discriptions in my Gallery. I have several albums in there that show many parts of my EB.
That price is what I spent in 1991 on high dollar items like, fiberglass body, roll bar, wheels and tires, axles, fuel tank, springs, shocks, metal tailgate, etc. (the tires and front springs are newer). I know things depreciate and wear out, but the things I added up were parts that either do not wear or have worn very little. (I have only driven it probably 5000 - 6000 miles since)
Please do not try to talk me into keeping it. Family is taking higher priority. It has only been driven about 500 mi. in the last couple years. I would rather see it get used by someone than to set around.
List all the specs you can about the drivetrain, brakes, gearing, and any accessories you've added. And you need more pictures in the ad. I know you have them in your gallery, but to be able to see them together would be nice.
Get it outside and get some pictures of it with the sunlight hitting it just right. Will make a huge difference in appearance as compared to sitting in your garage.
IMO, 10K may be a bit high. But it is a good starting point. Even though you have at least that much into it, it's a pretty old school built Bronco. It will be hard to justify your expenses from 17 years ago. What is going to hurt the value is the stiff Duff lift(you said the front springs are new, what are they?), and manual drum brakes.
With the economy in the shape it's in, you may sit on it for a while longer at 10. If you lowered your price around $7-8K, it would sell pretty easily. But comparing to the other 2 Broncos on the main page, you are right in line with them. It's all about finding the right buyer at the right time.
Thanks Jason. You are right. I needed to start somewhere on the price. I can always come down. I will be getting better pictures and more info. Waiting for decent sunlight.
FYI, the front springs are the newer Duff 2.5" variable rate. I will note that in the add.
