A Great Source For New Big Truck Wheels

I've got a thread going over on the 1948 - 1960 page about a conversation I had today with the owner of American Wheel Specialst, LLC. in Pasco, WA. This company can supply new tubeless 19.5" wheels that use our big truck 5 lug x 8" circle bolt pattern. truckdog, are you sure center hole on m-h is 8 inch? my 42-450 only has 6 inch. these rears are(i believe) heavier than f-3. i just wonder why lighter truck has bigger axles? pete

The bolt pattern on just about all the old Ford big trucks of the late 30s through early 50s was 5 lug on an 8" circle. That figure is determined by placing a tape on the outside edge of one lug and measuring across the wheel, past the second/nearest lug, to the middle of the third lug. That measurement will be 8" on your truck. The really early trucks, back into the mid or early 30s, had 5 lug on a 6 7/8" circle. That bolt pattern was used extensively on WW2 military vehicles and post war Dodges Power Wagons.

The center bore/hole of our wheels is 5 7/8". That closely matches your 6" measure. Stu
