Is possible you have a slow fuel leak somewhere?

Also, do any neighbors own diesel vehicles? Maybe they figured out "he won't notice a little bit missing now and then"...

I think my Cummins is pretty tough but I don't think I can piggy-back a couple-three semi trucks on it.

Maybe one at about 25 mph. until I break my clutch, trans.,X-case or rearend and I think it would off-set any fuel mileage gains. Actually simply the weight of the magnet might be too much all by itself.
Sure, but think of all the fuel you will be saving in the center of that black hole.

To the original question, did this happen overnight? If your fuel filter is a year old, I think you have little to loose in replacing it just in case.

A new fuel filter is next on the list. It will be changed this weekend if I don't go camping with the Scouts. As for neighbords with diesels. I know of one just a couple of houses down and I don't thing he is the problem. No leaks I have seen signs of or smells. No drips on top and no puddles on the ground. Every once and a while I get a drop of oil out of the bellhousing drain tube, but that is it. I am having an issue with my transmission during wet weather I posted in the Clutch,Transmission, Differential, Axle and Transfer Case fourm, but I don't think it is related, but you never can tell. As for over night yes and no. It did happen rapidly my milage went down to 7 to 9 mpg and has come back up some. It has been getting better but it still has a few more mpgs to go. It all happened over the last year.
