I bought the Revos for my 2000 Expedition and I really like them, they seem to hold the road better than the Goodyears I had before them.

What do folks think of using these tires while towing? I have a 6K travel trailer and am looking for new tires for the Expy.

The tires should be fine for towing that. A lot of guys who do a lot of towing switch to LT tires instead of the stock P tires. The LT's have a stiffer sidewall that should provide a little more stability, but keep in mind that the stiffer sidewall will also make the ride a little rougher. I definitely noticed a difference in ride quality switching from LT's to P's. It's a lot of personal preference.

Thanks. I tow basically spring-fall during weekends when we go camping, so that's why I hesitant to go to LT tires for full-time. If I towed a lot more frequently, I'd probably consider going with LT then.

I'm towing my big orange bronco back down to my parents place tomorrow, about 90 miles away. I'll post how the ride was.

Hey Y'all

Question on the Revo. I was looking at them the other day and the tire shop told me that the Revo's have 2 different compounds and 2 different wear indicators. The first iwear indicator is for the newer high-tech compound and is usually good for about 20K then the tire is riding on the old compounds used in the other Duelers, which haven't always gotten great reviews.

Basically, what I was told is that the tire is the best tire on the market for the first 20-25K, then performance goes down quickly and becomes just another average tire.

For what it's worth, I was told this by 2 different tire dealerships, 1 chain, 1 independent, without solicitation.

Anyone else ever hear this?

the revo's on my Expedition have about 45000 miles on them yes they are a bit thin not to the wear bar. they where excellent last winter in Southern WI about 100 in of wet slippery snow. The only complaint is that my milage did drop a little, but with the peace of mind that you have with the revo's it is well worth it.

Never heard of the 2 compound deal before.

Tires did good pulling my big truck. I could only run about 60 mph before it would get squirrely behind me. I think that was largely due to crosswinds and road construction.

On the way back home we went through one of Florida's great torential down pours while cruising 75 on the interstate. Could barely see anything but taillights in front of me and never felt the truck hydroplane once. It felt firmly planted, great tire in the rain.

I have run 3 sets of Dueler REVO A/T on...

3 different Explorers with good results. However, for my 03 Expy EB I just bought a set of the Dueler H/L Alenza and wow what a great ride.

I wanted a premium tire with improved gas mileage and have the smoothest ride possible, and so far I am extremely impressed. With the $100 rebate it was a good deal. Had lower ball joints replaced also.
