302 Towing capacity
I am looking at an 87 Ford Econoline Conversion van to possibly pull a travel trailer. I have been unsuccessful in finding out any information on what this beast can possibly pull. The trailer that I am looking at has a dry weight of ~7300 lbs. The van is set up for towing already, but I do not think that it has ever pulled anything this heavy. Any help/suggestions out there?? Thanks!!!!

I doubt if it can handle anything over 2500 lbs. The total gross combined vehicle weight will be your limiting factor and your van has got to be heavy. And you also have to consider the total load in the van.

I agree with both replies. Contact Ford to get an owners manual for the van to find out it's towing capacity. And a travel trailer with a dry weight of 7,300lbs is going to need at least a 3/4 ton or even a one ton vehicle to tow it. They have much bigger brakes than your conversion you are looking at.
