Holy crap. They are like $50 each. I'd say try someone other than autozone. Maybe rock auto.com?

Autozone and other fast moving parts stores are very price sensitive. They tend to carry several price points and then offer waranties to cover some of the quality.

Dorman isn't exactly top of the line stuff, however people buy it over spending more money so fast moving parts stores carry what moves the fastest. Hense the name fast moving parts stores.

Still searching. so everyone knows; the blend air actuator under the dash for the front air is for blending the heat and and does not redirect air to the floor or dash or defrost. so apparently i've a vacuum leak someplace. have replaced a few soft connections (stupid ford with their reducing couplings) under the hood. the search continues tomorrow.

Even if all of the vacuum lines check out as good, the selector switch could be leaking or a diaphragm inside one of the vacuum actuators could have a hole in it.

do you know which of the two actuators control air direction?
ima gonna jump the lines at the control to test that. but i have what seems very little vacuum at the control. i can't feel it unless i stick my tongue on it.

I'm fairly certain it's the one at the bottom left next to the driver's right foot.
