Choke Pull off?
|
If the choke pull off doesn't work, after starting the vehicle, it will act as if it is flooding and will run rich. The pull off works on vacuum. When the choke is first set in the morning, it will go completely shut. This is ok to start the engine, but after the engine starts running, the choke pull off cracks the choke butterfly open a little so the engine won't run too rich. Some carbs had an external diaphram with a lever that pulled the choke open. Some have a piston that is built into the carb behind the round black choke housing. Most of these have an adjustment from the factory that you usually don't have to mess with. I mention this, because the pull off can be adjusted where it opens the choke butterfly too much, and will cause the engine to stall.
