wanting a good code scanner!

I'm looking into getting a decent code scanner for my trucks, one that will read both the 97 gas and the 06 diesel. I don't want to spend a million bucks ($100-200) but would still like to get something reliable and fairly easy to use. Any suggestions?

I bought a actron #9145 from autozone , its a great unit , it was replaced a year or two ago by a newer model.

+1 for Actron- $129.00 from AZ. Reads my '97 van, and the wife's '02 Saturn.

I was going to get an actron, but all the ones I looked at didn't communicate with CAN, which is what my '06 needs (or so I've been told). I actually bought an Equus, off of Amazon for $139. I'll let you guys know how it works for me! Thanks for the input!
